| Sometimes I think that Christians are so weird. Not weird in an endearing, sweet way. Weird in a you are bizarre, get away from me way. I am not sure what following Jesus is supposed to look like, but a lot of people that follow Jesus irritate me. | | |
| | Because God has created you and me with a heart that only God’s love can satisfy. And every other love will be partial... will be real but limited... will be painful. And if we are willing to let the pain not make us bitter, but to prune us, to give us a deeper sense of our belovedness, then we can be free as Jesus. And walk in this world and proclaim God’s first love wherever we go. –Henri Nouwen |

| The entire Middle East will be interesting in 20 years. We again have countries growing up in hatred of other countries. Do you think that hatred will last their whole lives? I wonder if the Middle East will be more or less violent. Israel had the potential to have decent relations with Lebanon in the future before this war. But now the future does not seem as promising.
The news (CNN is mostly what i watch) seems so one-sided to me. Israel is destroying Lebanon: that is basically what they say. But there is little being said about the Hezbollah’s hatred of Israel, or that they build their facilities in poor Shiite neighborhoods that are being destroyed as a result. On the other hand, I really do not know what Israel is doing. They are trying to take out a terrorist organization by beating them at their own game. I don’t know how I feel about that. I guess you could say the US is doing the same thing in other countries...
Why is it that when I hear the word “terrorist”, I automatically think of Arabs. That is so wrong. I am going to catch myself every time it happens. Good ol’ US propaganda worked on me again.
| so my kids at the school where i volunteer in bethlehem were arguing today about an american rhyme:
trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat, if you don't, i don't care, i will take your underwear.
it's not take, it's pull... I will pull your underwear...
no, it's take.
no, it's pull down.
no, it's pull.
Miss Heid: It's pull down and you are not allowed to say that anymore.
